The 19 Metre Project

Alfred Mylne also designed "Octavia" in 1910 for the International Nineteen Metre Class. Her close competitor "Mariquita", brought back to life by Fairlea Restorations is now the belle of the ball in the Mediterranean and it is my opinion that she needs competition. Target price is under US$3 million, construction time 15-18 months, LOA 128 feet, LOD 95 feet, LWL 62 feet, beam 17 feet, draught 12 feet, displacement 75 tons, sail area 6876 square feet. Her photograph below suggests the most beautiful yacht of her type of all time. Given thirty years involvement building in wood & epoxy we have the experience and the enthusiasm to build "Octavia". In the form of "Kate" we have the perfect test bed for the larger 19 Metre. We also have specialised knowledge of the International First Rule, Lloyds scantlings and the contacts for design consultancy and the supply of timber, hardware and all other materials. With copies of Mylne's plans and calculations for "Octavia" in hand we have come up with the preliminary costing above.
